Our Family Story
The Lansdowne & Ellis Family
In 2022 they moved back to the valley with their three young children with a goal to own and operate Bella Coola Mountain Lodge &
Bella Coola Grizzly Tours & Adventure Resort.
Working closely with Bella Coola Grizzly Tours owner Leonard Ellis (Shannon's father) Both Business work closely to provide an excellent product for our guests. As a family operation, we take extra pride in being able to offer various accommodations in bella coola and also provide tour services in bella coola and around the Fjords. Daniel Ellis is our tour guide for all nautical adventures. Daniel has 10+ years of experience on our local waters with a vast amount of knowledge and stories to share with you on your adventures.

The Lodge Story
A Little Bit of History
Believed to have been built around 1895 the original building stood as a two room cedar cabin, typical of the Norwegian houses in the area. Through the early 1900's travellers making the long 5-7 day journey to Williams Lake could find a restful place.
After a long hiatus the doors reopened in 1995. With the developing tourism industry two generations of the Koroluk family transformed the walls and exterior into a standout building in the Bella Coola Valley to house their guiding company and guests.

As current owners The Lansdowne Family (Clark, Shannon, Ellis, Saylor and Colt) bring with them over 40 years of combined experience in the tourism industry and look forward to upholding Bella Coola Mountain Lodge's strong tradition and history of providing comfortable accommodation in Bella Coola and leave you with a memorable experience.
